Alex Maslanka
Alex Maslanka, a highly accomplished dancer, began his journey in the world of dance at the age of 7 in his hometown of Windsor, Canada. His career has spanned various aspects of dance and the arts, making him a versatile and well-rounded performer.
As a ballroom and Latin dance competitor, Alex and his partner have represented Canada in numerous prestigious competitions across the globe, including events in France, England, the Netherlands, and Latvia. Among their many accomplishments, they have secured the title of Canadian National Latin Champions, Blackpool Latin Semi-Finalists, Paris "Fred Astaire" World Championship Finalists, England's International Semi-Finalist, Junior and Under 21 North American Champions, and numerous other national and international awards.
Throughout his career, Alex has trained with an impressive array of renowned teachers and coaches in the ballroom and Latin dance industry, ensuring that his skills and knowledge are always up-to-date and top-notch.
Outside of the ballroom dance world, Alex also focuses on “commercial dance”. Alex is a recipient of such awards as “Teen Dancer of the Year” at the American Dance Awards, and “National Dancer of the Year'' at Tremaine Dance (in which he toured with the company for many years). Throughout his commercial dancing, Alex has had the opportunity to train and perform with some of the industries best dancers and choreographers, many that you may have seen in movies, T.V shows, artist tours, SYTYCD, and the list goes on. Some of Alex’s most notable performances include The Professional Dancers Society Awards performance in Los Angeles for Paula Abdul (in front of names like Dick Van Dyke, Nigel Lythgoe etc.) and at the renowned World Choreography Awards in Los Angeles, California.
In addition to his success in ballroom and Latin dance, Alex Maslanka has also made his mark in the world of television and music videos. He has appeared in several TV series and music videos, including notable titles such as Degrassi, Collision Course, CBC's Canada - The Story of Us, and Flip TFO.
Alex's experience as a teacher spans many years, during which he has instructed students of all ages and skill levels. His primary goal is to bring choreography and creative visions to life, making each dance experience memorable and unique. Alex takes pride in his versatility and creativity as a dancer, which translate into his exceptional abilities as an instructor. He is dedicated to sharing his passion for dance with his students and helping them achieve their own goals in the world of dance.
